In accordance with the City’s annual action plan to facilitate and support vibrant, thriving neighborhoods, the Planning and Community Development Department is putting together a Neighborhood Stabilization Plan. This plan will give residents and businesses a chance to join together and enhance their quality of life.
In order to best serve the neighborhoods, we created a survey seeing that we cannot put together focus groups in the neighborhood, due to COVID 19. This survey is aimed at getting the ideas from the people in the neighborhoods about what they think would be most beneficial in improving all aspects of the neighborhood. The business survey consists of 5 questions, while the residential survey consists of 8 questions. As the answers come in, then the strategies for stabilization and sustainability can be implemented.
Beverly was chosen as the “Pilot Neighborhood” to begin this program and eventually move into other neighborhoods. The City has undertaken a fundamental first step to establishing and implementing a Neighborhood Stabilization plan and looks forward to all the necessary pieces coming into place to achieve the goal of facilitating and supporting vibrant, thriving neighborhoods.
